Here are a couple pictures depicting both the swimming and track and field events at our house.

The "water cube" in our house -- the basement with all the cushions and blankets on the ground. They would do freestyle and backstroke mostly in the actual neighbohood swimming pool, but here at our house was the High Dive and Synchronized Swimming. Pretty cute!

Jake said he wanted to be as fast as Usain. But he "needed those things that he starts running on." It took Taylor and me a few days to figure out he meant starting blocks. He BEGGED Taylor to make some and this is what creative dad came up with... I thought it was quite impressive that Taylor put starting blocks together in just a few minutes with scraps of wood around the house. Jake and Luke loved practicing their running from these.

Now, Jake want's to hold his own olympics. He has made his own medals for the participants and insists Taylor makes running blocks for all his friends. We'll see if we can hold off long enough for him to forget about that request! :) He is a competitor at heart.
