SCHOOL 2015

We might live in the greatest neighborhood ever.  My neighbor heads up this 1st day of school breakfast each year and it's just so fun to see the kids all excited and out and about.

 This boy is starting the 6th grade at Hobble Creek Elementary.  My last year of having all elementary kids.  I'm SOOOO glad we are still in elementary at least.  Some areas 6th grade is junior high.  I need another year to prepare mentally for that! :)

oh, And this cute kid won the elections to be a student council representative.  He is beyond thrilled!

This one is starting 4th grade at Sage Creek Chinese Immersion.

I love that Sam is trying to be like Luke, but doesn't quite have the same PIZZAZ. Ha ha.  Such a cute boy ready for 1st grade immersion in Sage Creek with Luke.  New School, New Language -- GOOD LUCK OUT THERE!!

 

And my Natey boy is starting Kindergarten in Hobblecreek.  He is excited to go to school with his brothers each day.  I will miss having him around.  Good thing Kindergarten is only half day!

 Just a couple shots of the my cute boys (also pictured are our Taiwanese friends who were with us 2 weeks at the start of school), and some friends on the street.  Another year, here we come!

Another HUGE part of living where we do is that the bus stops RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR HOUSE.  Yes, that really helps in us never missing the bus and the bus driver is so nice, he actually waits/honks if we aren't out there in time.  LOVE IT! 

 Nate's first time on the big bus!  I really love the bus and will miss it next year when the boys are all at Sage Creek.  Jake is a great big brother and always helps the little ones find their way.  It was much harder to send Jake than his brothers because now I know they have a BIG kid watching out for them.

 Daddy was in Singapore for the boys first day, but was back soon enough for us to capture a picture on his first day back at BYU.  He is always such a great teacher and his students love him.  I'm sure this year will be just the same! Good Luck.

 

So, it's just Me and Naomi for the mornings this year.  I am kind of excited for the quiet and one on one time with her.  She is the best buddy around.  

Taiwan Exchange Boys

So, I've been wanting to be a little more involved in the community and schools and haven't really known how.  And then the Su Ma Ma chinese club fell into my lap.  My neighbor was asked to be on the board and I told her I would love to help.  And as a result, we got to host 2 sweet taiwanese boys for 2 weeks!!

Meet Justen and Ciber... or as we call them Justin Beiber. :)

Part of the fun of hosting was being invited to the activities that were planned for the group while they were in Utah.  We went to Heber and Had a fun barbeque and toured a really old antique ranch that was SUPER fun.  They let the boys feed calves and milk cows.

Just a couple pictures of the boys goofing off.  The antiques were amazing and ranged from tools, to pictures to old school phones and desks. 

Everyone loved the hay ride and eating smores to their hearts content.

We took the boys to the RES a few times and they liked hanging out in our 8 passenger raft.

The best part of the RES is the sand bar that you can build in.  Kind of like our own little Springville Beach!

Another host family hosted a pool night at their multi acrea spread.  Super fun house and yard. 

These Pictures below crack me up.  They had a cool swing tied to the tree over their tramp.  First, you see Sam pushing Nate and then you see Nate trying to push Sam and getting pummeled.  Haha.  good thing they are brothers and are used to rough play!

One night it was a full moon and we took all our kids on a ski lift ride up SunDance to see the full moon.  It was super fun.  It comes free with season passes and is super worth it to take the time to go for a relaxing ride up the mountain.

One evening all the Tawain students put on a show for Sage Creek.  It was pretty cool to watch and see the chinese in action.  They packed all their instruments and props and brought them just to perform for us.

At the end of the play, Sage Creek taught all the students the Wave Your Flag dance.  I love that our elementary does a school dance each year.  Super fun!

END OF SUMMER.... BOO

It just isn't summer without having a visit from the Cleggs and hitting Chuck E Cheese.  I'm wondering how long it will last that even the big kids like to go there.  We are about to hit teenage years with Spencer and Jake and it might be too babyish soon.

We have loved these guys even before marriage.  I was friends with Holly from Jerusalem and Brian was friends with Taylor from Rugby.  The stars aligned and we lived in NYC for 2 years together and now we live in Utah and they are in Ohio.  Love when we get to see them.

We are still connecting with our NYC friends when they come to Utah and I love it.  This is Emily Hanson and her kids.  We were bummed not to see JP but we had fun on campus exploring the engineering building and getting jamba juices!

Oh cute little Mimi at the reservoir.  I think I went at least once a week and watched the boys swim.  It will be nice when I trust them all there alone.  NOT FOR MANY YEARS.  Boys are too crazy to trust on their own!!

And... another race in the books.  The hobblecreek half which is always a fun one because it's in our back yard.  Look at all these cute ladies I'm friends with!

A few more times to 7-peaks to use up our passes.  This time we got to hang with the Stubben gang and it was a blast as always.  Our kids actually all get a long really well despite the fact we only see each other a couple times a year!

This handsome guy had a birthday shout hooray!  We took the chance to utilize Breckon as a babysitter (my boys LOVE having him in charge) and took the ski lift up Sundance to see the full moon.  I'm sure lucky to have this guy around.  He makes life A LOT more fun and provides for and protects our family better than I could have ever wanted a husband to do!  We love you Taylor.

Oh how we love summer around here and we especially love snow cones with the soft ice!  This is the night before school.
