Busy Days with Three

We are loving having a baby around. He's our little cuddlebug.

So Sweet.

Jake Luke

I think we are enjoying it so much because we've had so much help!  Aunt Heather has been my night nurse and just brings me the baby when he has to eat.  She's the best!

The other thing my sister did before she left was help me make and prepare about 20 different meals we could freeze.  Between these meals and meals from friends, I didn't cook for a month!! Maybe that's why I think having three is so easy! Thanks Heather.

WHO IS WHO???

Pictures of all of them at one day old....
SAM
JAKE
LUKE
They all have similarities -- but these definitely conclude that Jake and Sam look like the same baby! Notice their (jake and sam) suture lines in their head (where the scull hasn't come together by the soft spot), hair line, and noses. Very distinct, and similar - I think.

I have to say Jake and Sam are the look a likes -- what do you think?? We'll see how they evolve over time. :) I have to admit, they are all 3 pretty darn handsome!

And Seminary MUST go on..

I haven't had a chance to post any pictures from Early morning seminary yet. So, I thought I'd throw in some picts here.
Job and Johanna Welling

McKenna Fulton, Matt Westwood, and Margaret Wunderlich

Jacob and Luke (although their involvement is contained to the hallway.
Once again, another blessing with the 3rd. Seminary has not been hard at all yet. Taylor has been teaching while I just attend to help make conversation, but I'll be teaching next week, and I think it will be great. I really have loved teaching these Youth. They are GREAT! I'm sure I'm learning oodles more than them, but I guess that's the blessing of service right?

Sam is Loved by all --

The boys can't get enough of baby Samuel. I thought it would be harder to adjust than it has been for them. They are both great with him.
Luke will sit him and hold him forever without bugging him at all. The other day he fell asleep while he was holding him on the couch. I wish I could've gotten a picture of that! It was sweet. He has been soo gentle with Sam and doesn't seem jealous at all. He still loves to have his cuddle time with mom and dad, but hasn't seemed to feel like Samuel is stilling any of it -- so far.
Jake is a little helper with Sam. Sometimes, a little too much. He will be great with Sam as he gets bigger. He tries to wrestle and play with him right now just a little too rough. It's surprising to me that he is the one I worry about leaving the baby alone with for too long. He is a very curious boy, but loves Samuel just like everyone else around here.
Even daddy is caught in the newborn love web. He hasn't changed a diaper yet -- we are working on that, but is very helpful to let me know when Sam is hungery. (is "Sam's crying. Here, feed him.") Taylor has been sad to see this little one grow so fast as well. It's amazing how short the really newborn stage is!

2 weeks and growing

bundled up and ready to go to the hospital -- not so happy about it - apparently.

We took Sam to his 2 week appointment and he is growing just like my other 2 boys (big and chunky). He gained back his birth weight plus a pound, and 1/2 an inch.
Here are a few pics of him over the last couple weeks...
He is finally opening his eyes -- these are for my mom, who never got to see him REALLY open his eyes. It took him about a week to get the eye thing figured out.
Look how he is starting to fill out his cloths -- it's kind of sad to see our little newborn get big. It's only for such a short time they are teeny tiny (at least in my family). I have LOVED having a newborn again. I'm usually not the newborn type, but this 3rd time around has been fabulous! I was so worried about 3, but so far so good (knock on wood).
Notice the darling cowboy blanket he is laying on -- that is from my friend Jeannette --- isn't she talented?? We love the blanket and especially love the fabric -- little Sam has a lot of cowboy blood in him. I hope he grows up to love horses like his Grandpa Heaton.
Bath times are getting a little better, and thankfully, Sam is a great sleeper.
