FALL BREAK

STARTED the week off right by heading to FrightMares at LAGOON.  It's nice when we can find people to go with us.  The Brostroms were all game.
These boys are like brothers.  They love each other and can never get enough Brostrom time!!

They even did the wet ride and luckily dried out before it got TOO cold in the evening... :)

Frightmares is pretty frightening!!

He sure is wanted... Love my cute boys.

We woke up early (not too early) the next day and headed out to Stewart Falls for a fun fall hike.  Some of my favorite things to do in northern Utah include seeing the fall leaves and enjoying the crisp Fall air!
Mimi was a trooper.  It's a tiring job riding in the backpack.

I don't know how we started with just one boy each and ended up with this herd below... But we sure are glad to have all of them apart of our lives.

Sometimes, uncle Lincoln has meetings up here and brings the kids for quick get aways.  Some early morning fishing was on the to do list, and it is lucky we have this sweet golf cart to get to the reservoir.  Best purchase EVER!!
And to finish off the break, we headed to Heber to ride the machines and hang with  our other family friends.. the Dehners.

I love that Luke is so sweet with babies. He loves to hold and take care of them.  He has such a sweet heart, and caring personality.
Luke and Meg, and Morgan and Mimi above.

Every once in a while... I decide to get on a machine too.  It's rare, but glad we document it so my kids know every once in a while I do interact with them. ha I'm glad Taylor is always willing to do things like this, because it's not always my preferred method of fun! :)

A few more October Happenings

I was so lucky to get to spend the morning with Amber and just our babies.  She came down to shop a bit and got some cute stuff.  We took this picture to rub into Mike and Taylor we were hanging out.  Yup... they were jealous. :)  Sometimes, I really LOVE being a stay at home mom.  :)  Thanks for letting me hang with the kiddos while you bring home the big bucks T.  It's a great life.

Haha... I just realized how concerned Ivy and Mimi are in this picture... Don't worry girls, you'll get the hand of selfies in NO TIME!

Thanks to Grandma Heaton... Nate had a fantastic field trip to the fire station.  Mimi doesn't do so well on these treks, so it was nice for Nate to get some one on one fun with Grandma.  I had a doctors appointment at the same time.  Too bad I didn't get a picture with just Grandma and Nate!  Nate is the cute little bug on the gurney with a BIG SMILE! 3rd kid from left. below.

Sam had a quick early season of Basketball this year.  Thanks to our fantastic neighbor/coach Melissa, he had a great team.  It's fun to watch them improve over the years.  They can barely shoot in first grade, but he'll be rocking that court in a couple years.  It's always a hoot to watch and cheer for these little boys on the court.  To them.. it's serious competition!

Go Jr. Jazz team!

Jake and Luke had duets and trios this fall and did a great job..  Luke above, Jake below.  The practicing was a nightmare (in between 3 football teams and 2 soccer teams and 5 piano students schedules),  I am glad it's over, but in the end it was fun to hear them play together.
Just a cute picture of all the neighborhood boys out playing FUGITIVE.  Steve and Taylor basically take turns herding the boys around all summer.  But I can't complain when the weather is so nice and the company so fun... we have to take advantage of roaming the hood. :)

COUGAR RUN 2015

Mom and Dad both got 4th in their divisions.. Which is pretty good for me, considering I was prego. (excuses, excuses).  Taylor beat me again for the second year in a row.  I'm going to take him next year... It's a goal!!  I can't remember the exact time.  I think taylor got a 23 minute?  I was more like 25.
The cougar run is one of our favorite traditions.  We convinced the Franks to run it with us, and due to a couple family things, we only got to have 2 of the family to represent.  But we'll take who we can, we sure love having the Franks for neighbors! And Luke was missing due to a football game.

 Getting ready.....

Jake got 2nd with a 5:52 minute mile... SO AWESOME!
Sam actually got 3rd in his age group for the 400, but they messed up on the scoreboard!  good job..

Nate ran in Sam's age group this year and did so well for his first time at the 400.  He made the top 20 and I was so proud he didn't give up or cry!!! :)
We'll start training now for next year!!  We love this family fun run!  Naomi gets to participate next time and we will ALLLL love to cheer for her. :)

Temple, baby, marathon and more

Started the month out right with being able to be with my Neice as she went through the temple for the first time!  I'm so excited for Tyler being able to serve a mission in the Georgia Atlanta mission.  She will be amazing.  Such a sweet talented girl..

And, while we were taking shots.. Kaitlyn and I decided to do an upclose of our faces.  My kids and Kirks kids look so much a like.  People always say I look like Sydney and Kaitlyn.   This girl is a beauty and if we do look alike its a huge compliment to me!!!!  I sure love my nieces and nephews.

And it's officially time to announce that we're having another BABY!!  Looks like a little teddy bear here, I think.  We are SUPER NERVOUS but also excited to be growing our family.  We sure love them all so much and can't think of better blessings than having these special souls in our home. DUE May 3, 2016.
So, Tyalor and I could not decide if we were going to really have another way back in May, so I signed up for the marathon just in case.  I only ran the last 10 miles (just to play it safe) but it is always SOOOO fun to be with my girlies in races.  I just love these running peeps of mine.

L2R: Katie, me, Kathryn

Just for a nice Saturday outing... we heading with Lewises to the Ivan's reservoir.  I think my mom said my dad proposed to her out here.  It was fun and close and we always love hanging with cousins.

Southern Utah is such a beautiful place.  I just love the contrast of colors on the rocks and always such BLUE BLUE skies.
Skinny Nate... needs to eat his vegetables!!!

I love when the big cousins play with the littles.  Cam has taken over the big kid roll now, and look how strong he is!! The kids LOVE him and he is so fun with them.

Since I was down anyway, my mom got me a ticket to go see When you Wish at Tuachan.  It was FABULOUS.  And it was fun to get to go with some of my favorite people!  You can't beat the great fall night weather in St. George and the setting of the outdoor theatre is amazing.  THANKS MOM!

Fall fun

So the best thing about this fall for the boys is TACKLE FOOTBALL.  We always told the boys in 6th grade they could play, but for some reason... DAD GAVE IN FOR LUKE and he got to play in 4th grade with the 5th grade team.  LUCKY.  Jake can't quite get over the fact he had to wait until 6th grade and Luke gets to do it earlier.... but we'll see how they like it.  I just hope no one gets injured!!
Best Part was that Jake and Luke got to play each other one game.  LUKE WON... it was kind of fun to see the younger team do well.  Jake's team was just the JV team, but the coach let him play because he knew he was playing against his brother.  So fun to have them both out there.  GOOD JOB BOYS.

Sam the man started Flag Football this year and LOVES it.  Taylor was his coach and they had a good little team!  I guess no matter how much I wish it weren't so, we are a football family. :(  I hope I don't regret the decision later on.  I know there is so much talk about concussions and contact sports these days.  Ugh.  Makes me nervous.

Below is my cute cheer buddy.  He is not quite old enough for football, but goes to everyone's games with me.  We just got back from the dentist and it was making me laugh to see him smile and cheer this day, so I tried to capture it on camera. Sweet Natey.  We love you!

So, I love this picture below of Jake and his soccer teammate - Mac.  I took this picture because our friends from Ohio (now living in North Carolina) know him.  Mac just moved here and I just was talking with Angie Kelly and we randomly connected that they were friends with the Petersons in NC.  Olivia (Jake's age and one of his first friends) likes both of them, so we took a picture and sent it across the country to say hi.  SMALL WORLD!

We try to get out and go for a machine ride each fall when the weather is starting to turn cool.  It was a perfect day to head up to Heber for Labor Day fun.  This was actually take two, because the timing belt on the mini razor broke as soon as we first tried to go out.  Good thing it was at the beginning and not during the ride, that would have been disastrous. :)

No matter how many times I told my boys to keep their feet up and not try to stop the bike with their legs, they were SUPER nervous to ride that way.  I kind of like seeing a little fear and concern in their bodies, because usually it's no brains, all out speed!
We made it to the reservoir and had lunch.  I couldn't get the camera to get the background and the boy's faces, so I just have to post 2 pics.  Super cute littles.  Thanks to Gammie and Grampa for watching Naomi!

The boys were more nervous on the way back down.  But they did great and we had no wrecks.

Just a couple pictures of the boys loving on Naomi.  She gets quite the attention around here! Luke and Mimi watching TV....

Nate and Mimi --  Lucky Girl to have so much love from her brothers.

Our friends invited Jake and Luke to go "SLIDE THE CITY" in Orem.  I guess it's a new city activity that has been popping up all over the state.  They had a blast as you can see!
