Heather is 40!

Somebody is getting old around here and it's not me... it's my sister!!  I can't believe she is forty already, she is young at heart and will be like grandma hafen for sure and live to be 100...
My mom and sister and I have never taken a trip -- just us girls.  We ended that this June and took a birthday trip to San Fransisco!  It was the best trip ever... so fun to be with 2 of the greatest ladies I know.  It was so relaxing and just fun to hang out and talk all into the night.

We went to dinner with my cousin and his partner at Girabaldi's (they own the restaurant).  It was Fabulous.  So nice to reconnect with Justin and John is just as fun to be with.
We sure love our family!

Quick shout out to Taylor who let me go and actually helped me find all the reservations and places to go.  I'm a HORRIBLE trip planner, so this was quite stressful to me!
The first day was a bit chilly for the St. George Girls... aren't they cute in the hoods though... we laughed so hard at the people and each other, it was nice to just be care free for a couple days.
Alcatraz was awesome, one of my favorite parts of the trip
Sure glad I'm not and have not ever been incarcerated.  NOT a fun thing for anyone.
I bought a plaque from there that was hanging in the jail... Regulation #5: you are entitled to food, clothing, shelter and medical attention.  Anything else that you get is a privilege.

I hang it on my kitchen wall and remind my kids they have a GREAT life!! If they don't behave they loose a privilege, when they ask... what's a privilege, I respond that it's basically EVERYTHING! and point to the sign.. It works well. :)

We laughed nonstop during the headphone audio tour because we kept yelling at each other... we are getting old!!
Plenty of shopping and yummy food... what more does a girl need?
We walked across the bridge which was also super neat.  I can't believe it's man made... how did humans get so smart??

A few more pictures of the beautiful and fun scenery...  The trolleys were so fun.

I was training for the UV marathon that was only 2 days after we got back so Heather was nice and ran with me a couple mornings.. the views were stunning.  What a cool city San Fran is.  This was the best trip and I was so glad to go with my sister and mom.. I hope we can make this a new tradition!!

The big man gets baptized!

Jake decided to start his baptism day by running the Nestle 5K he beat his last time by 30 seconds and ended up 2nd over all in his age group.  He was under 26 minutes, but just by a hair.

we had all sorts of family travel up for the event.  And it was so sweet to see my boy get baptized.  He said the best part he remembers from today is coming up out of the water and seeing all his cousins watching him.  I love that, that is his memory.  He is surrounded by aunts and uncles and grandparents that love him and can be great examples for him to follow through his years.  My favorite part was watching Taylor and Jake play "I am a Child of God" on the violins together.  It was so beautiful and a proud momma moment to see both my handsome boys with their instruments. :)

Am I really this old... I guess so, I knew I was going to have to grow up one day, but it came so fast.  I still remember MY baptism day like it was yesterday. How do I have 4 boys now.  I am so grateful for them.  It has been a blessing to raise them and helps me learn and grow myself way more than I thought possible.
Some really Luke personality coming through here.  He can't have the day be JUST about Jake right?
The food was yummy, it was pork chalupas and my sister was able to borrow her brother in laws snow cone maker.  For the 100 degree day, that was a life saver.  So fun for all the kids.

We got some baptism pictures done of Jake... and boy is he handsome.  I posted some for all to see.

And one final one -- It's my favorite.  Love his eyes and smile in this one.  Jake we are proud of you that you have made the first step and got baptized.  I know you just have the start of a testimony right now, but it will grow and grow and if you need help you have many people who love you that will help you along this path.  It's true Jake.. what you did today is a correct ordinance and will help you to return to your heavenly father.  the gospel has help me find peace always in my life and I know you will enjoy that same blessing with the comfort of the Holy Ghost by your side.
8 is great!  We love you JAKE!

It's the end of the School Year... YAY

We MADE it through another year... not so hard for Jake, but VERY challenging for Luke.  But we did it and we are EXCITED for summer.

Luke and Miss Johnson 1st grade                               Jake and Mrs. Willie 2nd grade
We absolutely LOVE Brenda the bus driver.  She is awesome and knows all the kids names.  We will miss her over the summer for sure!
The primary in our ward is FANTASTIC.. Those leaders are amazing and had an ice cream social for the kids as the got off the bus the last day of school.. SO FUN for the whole family!
And, we love the annual Live WElle race.  below is a picture of Sam and Nate's race.. Sam only makes it half way and then gets embarrassed because everyone is watching and stops to cry.. Nate didn't even start the race... he was too nervous. :)

But Jake and Luke did awesome.  My little running buddies and I love it.
Jake won the 5k with a Whopping 26 minutes.  AWESOME!!  he almost beat Taylor. :)
He barely lost the 800 meeter to a boy who elbowed him out, right at the finish line.  I was a pround momma of this boy for sure today!  Way to go Jacob.

And of course a couple pictures of Silly Sam and Naughty Nate. :)
